Riverbreeze on the Hawkesbury, c. 1935
Sleeps 4 | Bedrooms 2 | Bathrooms 2

Riverbreeze is a charming 1930s fisherman's cottage perched high on the hill, overlooking the majestic Hawkesbury River. Lovingly restored in 2021, the cottage is located in Milsons Passage, a tiny community only accessible by water, making Riverbreeze a uniquely special, peaceful retreat.
Owner & host Sunny has created a luxurious yet welcoming, home away from home that reflects a simpler river life, with curated vintage pieces collected over many years. Some pieces have been in the cottage for decades and are dearly held curios, each with a story to tell. Also dotted throughout the cottage are beautiful objects by local makers and creatives.
There are two bedrooms, the River room and Bush room, both with king beds, Microcloud bedding, and dreamy, pure linen sheets. The original, restored clawfoot bath is a feature in the bathroom, with custom copper tapware and romantic linen shower curtain. Luxe bath amenities and bath sheets are provided.
Sink into the huge linen sofa or relax in the sunroom with a good book. The sunroom also has a lovely workspace with vintage table overlooking the river, perfect for ‘working from home’ if you need – and the cottage has complimentary fast WiFi. The living room has a wood burning fire, with firewood supplied in the cooler months, large TV for streaming your favourite shows, Bose Bluetooth speaker…or board games & books, if you’d prefer to disconnect from technology. Riverbreeze also caters for pets by arrangement, with a well-fenced garden.
There’s a country style, eat-in kitchen fully equipped for creating gourmet meals – including oven, slow cooker, dishwasher and quality cooking equipment & servingware. The pantry is well-stocked with staples, including single origin coffee, loose leaf tea – and lovely silver teapot to use! – spreads, spices and sauces, Grounded Pleasures hot chocolate…and gourmet treats. Breakfast provisions of homemade muesli, seasonal stewed fruit, local yoghurt, eggs & bacon are also included. You’re welcome to use herbs from the garden or the baker’s stand on the deck, and there’s a BBQ for easy al fresco meals – dine outdoors surrounded by nature, watching the sunset over the river.
Relax and enjoy the peace & quiet of slow mornings with coffee and the sights & sounds of the bush nearby, watching boats sail past, long lunches in the sun, and cosy winter nights with a glass of wine by the fire. Set in an extraordinarily beautiful location, with incredible views and the magic of the Hawkesbury, Riverbreeze is a special sanctuary from everyday life, where you can unwind, and just be.
