Toad Hall Pambula, c. 1860

One of Pambula’s most historic buildings, Toad Hall has sat proudly in the heart of Pambula village since 1860. It was first built as a Telegraph Office for the growing community, then served as a saddlery, gift shop, and antique store. Now recently transformed into a boutique heritage home stay, Toad Hall provides guests the chance to enjoy the nostalgia of a bygone era, oozing with country charm. Still dressed in its original sunset pink weatherboards with bullnose verandah, Toad Hall commands sweeping views over the village and surrounding area, a lovely spot to sit with your morning coffee, or a wine at sunset.

Lovingly restored, inside the heritage features continue, with original doors and windows, polished floorboards and soaring ceilings, two staircases - one being the original servants’ stairs - and open fireplace. Two spacious double bedrooms are furnished with an eclectic range of antique and vintage pieces, and both beds are dressed with crisp fresh linens. With plenty of books to choose from, it’s tempting to stay tucked up in bed devouring a good fiction novel with a cup of tea.

All-natural, eco-friendly personal care products are provided in the bathroom, and two living rooms and large dining area give everyone ample space to unwind. During the day, open up the French doors off the sun-filled living area that lead onto the verandah and watch the village’s comings and goings…and of an evening, cosy up by a roaring fire with a glass of red and Netflix.

Cook till your heart’s content in the fully-equipped, country kitchen, with cookbooks for inspiration and beautiful vintage touches. Pantry basics are supplied, and it’s just a stroll to the local supermarket and produce stores. Outside, relax in your own private paved courtyard area with BBQ, a lovely spot for al fresco dining on summer evenings.

Authentic, rustic and a heritage lover’s dream, Toad Hall is the perfect base for exploring the coastal village of Pambula and glorious surrounds of the Sapphire Coast.

“ We were looking to stay in a historic property on the South Coast, and Toad Hall was perfect. It’s been perfectly styled and furnished, and was a pleasure to stay in. The location couldn’t be better. ” — Recent Guest Review
